The space limitation in the path is calculated as the maximum amount of disk space that is available in the directory and its subdirectories. Maximum available disk space is affected by limitations assigned to the directory and its parent directories VIA the NetWare DSPACE utility. If there is no disk space limitation for the directory, the value of this field is <Unlimited>. This is not the effective space limitation as it does not take into effect limitations in "the path" (parent directories) which also affect the disk space available in the directory. This is also known as the "effective space limitation in the directory" For example, suppose a directory restriction was placed on SYS:HOME of 10 MB. The owner of SYS:HOME\GUEST\DATA might give that directory a directory restriction of 20 MB. For SYS:HOME\GUEST\DATA, 20 MB is the space limitation in the directory, but 10 MB is the Space Limitation in Path, which is what the effective restriction actually is for the directory.
